and enslaved those who trusted
their meaningless rhetoric;
an inferno spread throughout and
couldn’t be controlled.

Erected statues shaped like martyrs
stand as warning to the outcast.
An unpleasantness of ravens perched atop.
Manuscripts burned and new lines jotted down.

(lies or just merely a redefined point of view)

Experiencing the same, yet remembering differently.
This is the marathon that every generation runs.
The empire wills the peasant
to move forward when there is more to gain;

It is a shame that the facts will be falsified
in future references of a time
when satisfaction was maybe not such a popular mood.

It is all about the point of view and redefining
what once some held as true into distorted lies. (2x)
On the closing arc
silence will echo the ruins,
and one day something similar
